Homage to Teachers
I’m a teacher, without fears and without complexes.
I’m a teacher and proud to be one.
Yes, I’ve got almost two months vacations
and my workday is short but intensive.
I’m a teacher, and I take my work home
and others don’t know that
but I don’t care
...I’m a teacher
I don’t argue about the number of holidays a fireman has,
or the people who work in jails.
I’m a teacher
and when I go to the doctor I don’t argue
with the diagnosis,
I just ask to be cured.
I’m a teacher and when I go to the lawyer
I don’t argue about the law,
I just want to be defended.
I’m a teacher and when I drive on the highway
I feel safe
because
I know the highway was designed by an engineer.
I’m a teacher and I live peacefully in my home,
the one designed by an architect.
And you, who are you? Why do you dare
to tell me that I work little and badly at that?
I’m a teacher
and everyday I teach the way to assimilate
the competences needed by my students.
I’m a teacher
and everyday of every course, I face a bunch of kids that I learn from as much as they learn from me.
And you, who are you? Why do you dare
to tell me that I work little and badly at that?
I’m a teacher and everyday I work
with sensitive and fragile individuals
who
still have not matured.
I’m a teacher and I try to show them how to
achieve personal success through work, force and dignity.
And you, who are you? Why do you dare
to tell me that I work little and badly at that?
My salary is reduced, my hours lengthened
I have more and more students
in my classes ...
I KNOW WHO I AM.
But... you, who do you think you are?
I’m a teacher, without fears and without complexes.
I’m a teacher and proud to be one.
Yes, I’ve got almost two months vacations
